One of the coolest and most unusual guitars in my collection.
For a few years in the early 80s Kawai produced the crescent shaped Moonsault. The most famous user of one was Ric Ocasek of The Cars. Check out the back cover of Panorama and the Touch and Go video.
Over the years, Kawai has reissued the Moonsault but this is one of the originals in Blue Burst finish. All of the electronics work as they should.
This guitar is in very good shape. The only issue is that the original clear pickguard is missing. It doesn't take away from the look, but should be pointed out.
It's in very good shape. It's more than a looker though, it plays well up and down the neck and the pickups and switching sounds good with plenty of available tones.
It's lightweight at 7.7 pounds. Neck is a comfortable C shape with the following measurements:
Width - 1.72" at the nut, 2.06" at the 12th fret
Depth - 0.87" at the 1st fret, 0.93" at the 12th fret.
Includes the original, form fitting case
