This is a Japanese made model from 2005, after Fender purchased the Gretsch guitar brand. In my opinion, the overall quality and specs took a huge leap forward under Fender, especially with the Jet models. The bodies are much more chambered, almost hollow, similar to true vintage specs.
This model is true to 1957 specs with single coil Dynasonic pickups. Has a great clean twangy tone that is perfectly suitable for country and rockabilly. But don't be fooled, it can rock with the best of the as well. Just listen to Billy Zoom's tone in the X albums from the 80s. This is the G tailpiece version with no Bigsby.
A previous owner had some stickers on the top of this guitar around the pickup selector switch and below that near the bridge on the upper side of the guitar. While the stickers were removed with no damage, the finish under it has not yellowed slightly like the rest of the guitar. It's hard to capture, but you can see the faint outline of the stickers in a couple of pictures.
Beyond that, however, the guitar is in very good shape with only minimal playwear. The frets were recently professionally leveled and the guitar set up.
Like other post-Fender Jet models, it is very light at 6.6 pounds. The neck is a nice medium C shape with the following dimensions:
Width - 1.67" at the nut, 2.07" at the 12th fret
Depth - 0.87" at the 1st fret, 0.94" at the 12th fret.
Includes the original branded hard shell case.
