I have become a fan of Duesenberg guitars over the past couple of months. I resisted trying one out for years until this one fell into my hands. I don't know what I was waiting for, but the playability, tone and look is just off the charts.
Made in Germany, The Starplayer V is a model for the Japan market only. It is similar to the Starplayer TV model in features and electronics, but sports a thinner body with a flat top and back. It came in several different finishes, this one with a silver sparkle top and solid black back and sides.
I would describe the condition as very good with only minor playwear, including minor light scratching (nothing through the finish) on the back and pickguard. There is also a small chip on the top of the headstock.
The tremelo is fantastic. Similar to a Bigsby, but much smoother in feel.
The pickups are Duesnberg's own, a Grand Vintage humbucker bridge and Domino P90 neck.
This guitar is light at 7.3 pounds. The neck is thin/medium with the following dimensions:
Width - 1.67" at the nut, 2.06 at the 12th fret
Depth - 0.83" at the 1st fret, 0.93" at the 12th fret
The Starplayer V did not come with a case or gig bag but will be well padded and protected for shipping.
